Carolyn Hembree Carolyn is a Phoenix, Arizona native and the mother of handsome twin preschool age sons. She has been joyfully married since 2001. Carolyn taught elementary grades in public and charter schools from 1996 - 2003, taking a 2 1/2-year leave to nurture her newborn twins. God's work in Carolyn's life is abundant. Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. While at NAU, she served as Treasurer of her Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She briefly attended Graduate School at Arizona State University, prior to her marriage to Mr. Hembree. She is an alumnus of Scottsdale Horizon High School, where she participated on the varsity badminton team. When time permits, she enjoys bicycling, reading, and baking. She counts her family, career, friends, and spiritual life among her many blessings. Her one-time neighbor, a fellow Christian teacher, introduced Carolyn to her husband, David. Carolyn has enthusiastically served on her church's Vacation Bible School team as a recreation events instructor and a teacher-coordinator. She has also volunteered service as one of her church's Sunday School teaching staff and was an active member of her church's "Morning Out for Moms" fellowship group. In addition, Carolyn continues to serve on her church's Staff Parish Relations Committee. Carolyn's interest in genealogy guided her discovery of ancestral links to American patriots and their cause of independence. In 2006, she acquainted herself with the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which conferred membership to Carolyn in 2007. Also in 2006, God called Carolyn to Joy Christian School to share her distinctive teaching styles with elementary students. She particularly enjoys contributing to the overall positive development, Christian growth, and learning success of her students, whose parents – along with the School administration – bring together such a supportive environment. |
