Steve Mork Steve Mork grew up in a loving Christian home, his father, a pastor and his mother a teacher. He witnessed a passion for serving others and a compassionate spirit to care for those in the community. Born in California, he moved to Iowa in 1st grade and continued to live there through high school. Steve excelled in various sports, music, and drama. These interests continued through college and have been very influential to his ministry today. His experience as a Bible Camp counselor and youth leader also strengthened his walks with the Lord. Steve graduated from Waldorf College in Forest City, IA in 1983 with an Associate degree. He went on to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education and a coaching certificate. Steve substitute taught in North Dakota and Minnesota before meeting his wife Judy, now married for 17 years. Steve was a 'stay at home dad' for his children Amanda and Gabe from 1994 to 2001 and enjoyed that time very much. Both children have been at JCS since preschool through the present. Steve has taught at JCS for 6 years since 2001. Steve's love of sports and of children has been a great combination that has allowed him to share the love of Christ here at JCS. Steve, his wife and children have been members of CCOJ for 10 years. Steve and Judy teach Sunday School together and Steve sings in the Celebration Worship Choir. Their family is involved in various mission and serving opportunities at CCOJ. Steve loves teaching at JCS and looks forward to building more relationships to help foster strong Christian leaders for the future. |
