High School Math Teacher

Liisa Glandorf was born and raised in Southern California.  She attended Lutheran schools from kindergarten through college.  In first grade she decided she wanted to be a teacher.  By the time she was in middle school, she realized that math was the subject she wanted to teach.  She planned to teach at the secondary level once she started taking Geometry in high school.

Mrs. Glandorf received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Concordia University in Nebraska, majoring in Mathematics and Physical Education.  It was at Concordia that she met her husband, Steve Glandorf, principal of JCHS.  She taught with him at Lutheran High Schools in Houston and Los Angeles.  She also taught at a public high school in Los Angeles before her kids were born.

Once her first child, Rachel, was born Mrs. Glandorf felt called to be a stay-at-home mom.  Two years later Joshua was born.  Rachel is currently studying Broadcast Journalism at Baylor University in Texas.  Joshua is at San Diego State with an International Business major.  With both children in college, Mrs. Glandorf felt led back to the classroom.  She knew she missed teaching math all those years, but she forgot how much she loved developing relationships with high school students.

Being a product of a small Lutheran high school and having had her children in small Lutheran high schools, Mrs. Glandorf is passionate about the benefits of Christian education.  Now she feels especially blessed to be teaching at JCHS.

As a member of Community Church of Joy, Mrs. Glandorf is involved with prayer ministry, bible studies, and women’s retreats.
