Born and raised in San Diego, Cindy Chleborad was always astounded by the works of God. Throughout her childhood and teen years she was actively involved in the youth groups at her church. During the summer it didn’t matter what day of the week it was chances were you would find her at church involved in one activity or another. The summer prior to her senior year of high school she spent time as a camp counselor at Forest Home Christian Camp.

While attending Northern Arizona University to obtain a degree in elementary education, Mrs. Chleborad met and fell head over heals in love with her husband John. Following their graduation from NAU in 1988, she married her soul mate and they settled in the Glendale area. In 1992 prior to starting their family, Mrs. Chleborad completed her Masters in Education Degree with an emphasis in curriculum, instruction, and assessment from Chapman University. They have two children; a thirteen year old daughter, and a 10 year old son. Her family enjoys traveling to experience history, camping on the beach and in the mountains, and just hanging out together. The Chleborad family has attended Community Church of Joy (CCOJ) since 1994.

Being an administrator at Joy Christian School (JCS) is an awesome honor for Mrs. Chleborad. After spending 19 years in education, she views it a privilege to work with the amazing students, families, and staff that grace the school campus while serving Christ.

Prior to coming to JCS, Mrs. Chleborad spent fifteen years in public schools in the Glendale area. She has had the opportunity to teach every grade Kindergarten through eighth, mentor first year teachers and teachers in training, serve on numerous district and school committees, and assist in the administrative duties on various campuses. In 2001, Mrs. Chleborad was named by the Deer Valley Educational Foundation “Teacher of the Year”.

Besides school affiliations, Mrs. Chleborad is a Trainer of Trainer for Six Traits Writing, and Character Counts. These responsibilities have provided opportunities for her to work with teachers in several schools within the Phoenix area giving her insight into best practices in education.

Mrs. Chleborad made the decision to join the JCS faculty in 2002 while seeking the best educational possibilities for her own children. She and John were searching for a place where their children would receive an education that integrated solid academics with a firm foundation in faith. Since the Chleborad family attends CCOJ, investigating JCS as the school choice for their family was instinctive. Once they visited the JCS campus, they realized this was the school experience they had been praying about and wanted for their children.

Upon being selected to join the staff at JCS, Mrs. Chleborad has taught in the middle school, was the assistant principal, and is now the principal of the Lower & Middle School. When Mrs. Chleborad became principal she was concerned about maintaining a healthy balance of school and family. It is clear that God is in control since her family is thriving, and she loves being able to serve the community of JCS.
