Diane Stair Born and raised in a Christian home, Diane always knew that God was her Lord and Savior, and whatever was in store for her life was all in God’s hands. Diane attended a Christian school in Kansas City, Missouri from 1st grade until she graduated from High School. Being able to attend a Christian School was the greatest reward in her life. When Diane was three years old her brother was diagnosed with a head injury after an accident. After many tests, her brother was labeled with a mental disability and placed in State Institution. As she grew older and had children of her own, it was then that she realized that she had a special place in her heart to help others with Special Needs. In 1990 she started working for the Shawnee Mission School District in Overland Park, Kansas. She was hired as a Paraprofessional assisting children with Special Needs. After taking over 500 hours of training and classes she started educating children with Autism, Downs Syndrome, and Multiple Learning Disabilities in the regular classroom. Diane worked with these children for 16 years, helping them become a part of the regular classroom, watching them grow, and relate to other children. This was very rewarding for her. Another dream that she had was to be able to teach children about God. During a visit to Arizona during Spring break in 2005, she visited a preschool class at Joy with a family member. When she went back home she told her husband it would be nice to work at a Christian school and still teach children. In July 2005, she and her family relocated to Arizona and in her search for a job, God directed her to Joy Christian Preschool. She was in search of working with children with Special Needs but at that time there was not a need at Joy. She interviewed at the Preschool and was hired as an Assistant to the Director. Diane enjoys sharing her love of God with the staff, children, and the families of the Joy Christian Preschool. God has truly blessed Diane with the Love, Patience, and Joy of being with children on a daily basis. Diane is a Team Leader in the Extended Care of the Preschool. Her responsibilities are working with the staff, children and families of the Preschool and share her love of God with them. Diane has been married to her husband, Steve, for 27 years, and has
two sons, Chris and Nick.
