High School Fine Arts Program
JCHS Fine Arts Department provides the opportunity for full-on theatrical productions twice each year. The students may choose to participate in a Christmas and a spring production. Students may choose to be involved in the many different elements of putting up a production such as script development, technical support, artistic design, costuming, acting, or singing.
During the short history of JCHS the students have already presented two full length productions. "Wait, Wait, Bo Bait" in the spring of 2007 and "A Cup of Christmas Cheer" in December of 2007. Both events were a huge success and well attended. In the busy process of preparing such productions, students were not only challenged to refine their artistic God-given talents, but relationships between students, as well, as between students and staff, were strengthened. We are looking forward to getting started on our next performance for the spring of 2008.
As a "performance" oriented department, focus is placed on recognizing that our gifts are given to us by God and it is for His glory and honor that we are involved in the arts.
