Communication - Skills for a Lifetime (Grade 9)
This introductory communication course provides a framework for understanding the importance of communication in our lives. Interpersonal communication, small group communication, and presentational speaking will be addressed. In addition, the principles of print media and the profession of journalism will be introduced as another critical part of communication in our society.

World History/Geography (Grade 10)
World History presents an overview of world cultures and the human experience. The course begins with the ancient and medieval periods followed by in-depth examinations of the rise of democratic ideas, the history of world revolutions, the development of imperialism, the impact of the World Wars, and the presence of nationalism in the contemporary world. Throughout the year, students will be able to see the impact of Christianity in both Western and non-Western settings. As each time period is studied, students will also develop an understanding of the geography of the earth as it relates to the diverse cultures in the world.

United States History (Grade 11)
This course includes the study of the political, social-economic, and geographic development of the United States from the colonial days to the present. Students are given the opportunity to reflect on the people and events that shaped our nation; they will also examine the relationships of events and people and interpret significant patterns, themes, ideas, beliefs, and turning points in Arizona and American history. Additionally, current events and world issues are discussed throughout the year.

American Government/Economics (Grade 12)
This course is designed as an introduction to American government as well as to the basic principles of economics and their application to the modern world. Federal, state and local organization and operation of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches will be studied in the first semester. The second semester will focus on the essential concepts, values, and methods of economic analysis.
